Product Overview

For Aggressive Fluids Compressed Air-Driven Pumps

DEBEM air-operated diaphragm pumps run on compressed air and can transfer any type of liquid, including highly aggressive fluids. The Italian company DEBEM has been manufacturing industrial pumps for over 30 years and is preferred worldwide for its advanced manufacturing technology, superior quality and competitive prices.

  • Self-priming capability (from depths of up to 7 m)
  • Material options suited to the properties of the fluid being transferred: PP, PVDF, ECTFE, aluminum, AISI 316 stainless steel
  • 1/4" – 3" female threaded inlet and outlet connection options
  • 12 different models, capacity range of 5 – 900 l/min
  • Diaphragm options according to the chemical and physical properties of the fluid: NBR, EPDM, HYTREL, SANTOPRENE, PTFE (Teflon)
  • Trouble-free design with dry-running capability
  • No electric motor; runs on non-lubricated compressed air
  • Explosion-proof. Transfers flammable and explosive fluids safely and without problems. ATEX CERTIFIED.
  • Pump flow rate and head can be easily changed
  • No mechanical seal or soft packing, "0" leakage
  • Stops automatically when the discharge line is blocked

Operating Principle

In DEBEM double-diaphragm air-operated pumps, the diaphragms are connected to each other by a common rod and move in opposite directions. While one diaphragm is pushed by compressed air, the other, connected to it by the rod, expels the residual air in front of it. When the stroke is complete, the air valve automatically reverses the direction of the compressed air and the same movements are repeated in the opposite direction.

The continuously repeated reciprocating motion alternately draws in and discharges the fluid in each chamber. The suction and discharge ball valves regulate the flow of the fluid from the moment it enters the chambers until it leaves.

Application Areas

  • Mounted on containers holding product, such as drums, tanks, storage tanks and IBC tanks, for transferring a variety of products with a viscosity of up to 5,000 cps at 20°C using high suction power
  • DEBEM double-diaphragm air-operated pumps can transfer products with a viscosity of up to 5,000 cps at 20°C from a depth of up to 6 m by self-priming
  • Connected beneath any tank filled with product, for trouble-free transfer of any product with a viscosity of up to 50,000 cps at 20°C
